High Country Furniture & Design was founded in 1996 by Anne Worrell, who had decorated twelve homes across the country before deciding to turn her passion into a business. What began as a 1,200-square-foot shop called Cabin Fever in Maggie Valley has grown into three showroom locations across Western North Carolina.
For years, Anne's son Doug carried on the family tradition, leading the business and growing it into the region's destination for quality furniture and design.
In 2025, Jake Ballard and Kyle Robins acquired High Country Furniture & Design, continuing that legacy maintaining team in place.

From foundational furniture to the finishing touches, we carry everything you need to style your home, including lighting, accessories, and décor. We specialize in American-made pieces with solid wood construction and genuine American leather, built to last for generations, alongside select specialty finds from around the world. Nearly any sofa, chair, or table can be customized in your choice of luxury fabrics and leathers to perfectly fit your space.
